The Nano Banana x Veo Mashup: Unlocking Mini Moments of Magic

A simple workflow to turn your imagination into animation.

Nano Banana Pro has been taking the world by storm, unlocking completely new forms of creativity. And rightfully so. This model is mind-blowing - not just for generating images, but for rendering high-quality text, diagrams, and complex layouts.

But while the specs are impressive, today I want to focus on a particular workflow that I’ve been absolutely loving.

I call it the Nano Banana x Veo Mashup.

It is a simple, two-step process that unlocks a world of magic, allowing you to imagine virtually anything and then bring it to life.

The Workflow

It’s super simple. You can do the whole thing right inside the Gemini App:

1. Create with Nano: Enter a prompt to generate an image with Nano Banana. This could be an infographic, a diagram, or something totally whimsical.

2. Bring it to Life with Veo: Download that image, start a new chat, upload it, and ask Veo to animate it. Be sure to describe exactly what you want to happen.

Mini Moments of Magic

I’ve been using this to create what I call “mini moments of magic.” I’ve made everything from dynamic infographics to an imagined diary page from my dog’s journal (if she could write, I’m pretty sure this is exactly what she’d say).

Are the animations perfect? No. They can be a little glitchy, but they are delightful. (And a bit more prompting can go a long way if you’re looking to perfect something).

But keep in mind - as I keep saying - this is the worst these models will ever be. We are just scratching the surface of what’s possible.

Unleashing Joy

The thing I love most about this isn’t just the technical capability. It’s that it has completely reduced the friction of being creative.

It unleashes a whole new wave of possibilities where you can go from a fleeting idea trapped in your head to an experience you can share with others in minutes. My kids have loved watching these come to life as I’ve been sharing them with my family.
