I’m a Product Director at Google Labs. Right now I’m building Pomelli, Opal, and Mixboard - three AI products that are live and shipping.

I’ve been doing this for over 15 years - at YC startups (including my own), now Google, where I launched Google AI Studio, the Gemini API, and Project Mariner. I’ve had an unusual vantage point: watching AI go from an internal research bet to the thing reshaping how every product gets built - and being the person building some of those products.

Thursday Thoughts is where I think out loud about what that actually looks like.

Not the conference-talk version. The real one - the product instincts that held up, the ones that didn’t, the things I noticed that I couldn’t stop thinking about. Some weeks it’s about what I’m learning inside a major AI lab. Some weeks it’s about using an AI agent to plan my twins’ third birthday party. I have three kids and a lot of opinions.
